Operator of the two largest online poker and online bingo applications in the Facebook world, Zynga is predicted to be the first social gaming developer to enter the real-money gambling market. In a recent interview with PC Mag, Zynga CEO Mark Pincus discusses the prospect.
Pincus’ company is growing and expanding at an impressive rate. Zynga’s applications see millions of players each month, and Pincus wants to expand into other markets to take advantage of its existing fan base. Real-money gambling is one such market that Zynga is exploring, as it presents the opportunity for the company generate even more revenue.
According to PC Mag, Pincus is interested in establishing an online gambling website that has a mass appeal. Rather than attracting only high rollers and serious players, Zynga’s potential new online gambling service will offer games that have a more mainstream appeal. Zynga Poker and Bingo have already proven that such an endeavour is possible; so, it will be interesting to see how the company uses this experience to launch into the online gambling world.
