When it comes to online gaming, Zynga is a leader in the market. While the company provides a wide range of social games, its Zynga Poker application sees millions of users each month – but its heyday may be coming to an end soon. According to recent statistics, fewer players are taking part in Zynga’s online games.
Over the course of the past quarter, Zynga reported that fewer players took part in the developer’s games. Zynga stated that this was due to Facebook changing its format; however, other game developers stated that this had not been their experience. So, it could be a case of gaming fatigue.
Zynga’s games are older and more established than other providers’ titles. In a market like social gaming, in which trends come and go very quickly, Zynga has withstood the test of time – but it seems the company’s time in the spotlight is coming to an end.
So, this is probably the ideal time for Zynga to launch into the online gambling world. With reports looming that the company is thinking of launching a real-money poker application, it may be the perfect solution to Zynga’s waning Facebook numbers.
